Matt Beaumont – SEAS Operations Director

With two decades of experience as an outdoor coach, Matt has a passion for the great outdoors that goes way back to family camping trips on the Gower Peninsula and Scouting adventures.

After a stint working in research as a biologist, Matt changed path turning hobbies into a career. As an outdoor coach, he's dedicated to introducing people to outdoor activities, nurturing their skills and as an RYA trainer, he has been developing new instructors since 2005. He has worked at various outdoor centres, including Plas Menai and the Conway Centre, Matt has a strong focus on safety and quality. He believes that the outdoors offers unique experiences for each individual and values inclusivity, flexibility and most importantly, fun.

In 2012, Matt had the opportunity to volunteer at the Paralympic sailing events, an experience that left a lasting impression. He's an active outdoor enthusiast, enjoying windsurfing, sailing, and exploring new disciplines. His family shares his love for the outdoors, with his daughter Ellie climbing and fell running, and his son Will involved in surf life-saving. Like any competitive Dad, he now often finds himself watching, dreaming of lost youth.

Matt and his family even ventured on a six-month backpacking journey across China and South America. Now, as the Operations Manager for SEAS, he's committed to providing individuals in North Wales with safe and social outdoor experiences on the Menai Strait, with a focus on the importance of family and caregivers.
